I hold a Bachelor of Social Science in Communications and Media Studies and Management. I am a self-taught web designer with five years of web design experience, founding my own web design company in 2019. I got into Product Design through my web design experience and training through IQbusiness. I got into web design because my parents decided that I needed to be responsible for my own lunch money five years ago and I have not looked back since. I am always keen to learn and ready to be exposed to new environments and challenges.
I value understanding the project’s requirements, scope, role in it, and measurable outcomes for the project. I believe in supporting team members and approaching problems with a collective mindset. Whilst a big picture thinker, I like lists and break down goals into smaller tasks. Delivering quality and timely work is vital to me.
The mandate involved the consolidation of all digital employee services into one single super portal. Which involved the redesign of existing services to be integrated into the portal and designing the user interface for entirely new services that Nedbank is introducing to its employees. I was responsible for designing and being part of user testing of the new employee portal’s new features.
There was a need to redesign posters that were going to be used in a presentation to Metropolitan for a proposed solution. The initial requirement was to amend the original posters to improve the aesthetic quality as well as the readability. After trying out changes to the posters, I decided that the posters actually required brand new designs with improved legibility of the copy and employing a more direct execution of Metropolitan’s CI.
Metropolitan has a series of educational jingles. There was a need to incorporate at least one of these jingles into the presentation for a proposed solution. Additionally, we had an introduction of the proposed solution recorded in isiZulu which required accompanying visuals that we needed to incorporate into the presentation as well. I decided to fulfil the two requirements as one solution in the form of a video advert.
